mush

"I only need the wagon mom," says Joseph...

His latest creation was a dog sled (à la St. Nick), pulled by our neighborhood beagles, Riley and Dude.

Spotted by Jamie and pulled by the tolerant dogs, the boys made it a fair way across the cul-de-sac...

before wipe-out!

Leo just wanted to hug Riley!

painting daisies

Our parish mom's group night out at Urban Legends (photo by Anna).

tandem

The boys spent the night at my parents so Jude and I could have a night out before the baby comes.  They helped with their garage sale and Joseph sold all of his Tootsie Rolls for the Knights of Columbus fundraiser-he definitely has Jude's business sense.  Here, Leo and my dad were headed out for a ride around the block.

Joseph and he returning, photo by Jude on his phone.  I love Joseph's smile!

check presentation

Not only did the kindergarten classes Junior Achievement project earn enough money for the four listening stations, they were awarded a check for twice that amount!

Here are both classes at the check presentation.  Note that Leo has wormed his way into the photo (luckily he was wearing navy)!

Good job kindergarteners!

silly

As we are getting ready to leave, Leo suggests, "Let us go now to the forest of love!"
"What's that?!?"
"The library!"
As the laughter ensued, he queried "Did you laugh your head off?"

green lanterns

We celebrated Easter with Jude's side of the family this weekend.  Unfortunately the turnout was down because of the crazy tornado weather that cancelled the Spring game we had planned to attend on Saturday and sent us to camp in the basement for the first time since we have lived in this house!  Nonetheless it was a fun continuation of our Easter season of rejoicing!

thief

Joseph is playing micro-soccer this season.  Leo's favorite part of the game is the snacks at the end, this game he ended up with treats from the opposing team!

another baby is coming...

I took the boys to the hospital sibling class/tour to prepare for our upcoming birth, it's been awhile...

They each had their own "baby" to practice swaddling, holding, feeding and diapering.

By happenstance, they each got their preferred gender.  Leo is set on a sister while Joseph wants another brother, "No pink or purple stuff!"

Leo likes the name Kiki and Joseph's choices reflect his classmates and their siblings: Rio, Diego, Omar.  Jude thinks it's a girl and I can talk myself into either one, I've only gotten sick once (with a migraine) and I don't feel that big, but my shirts are starting to get short!  I am still on progesterone.  However, I have thought both of the boys were girls, so of course this baby is a boy too!  Feel free to make your predictions in the comments!

Leo, who is in a bit of a clean-freak stage, was not pleased to put the "dirty" diaper back on!

There was a short video along with some photos of what the newborn baby might look like.  At one point the instructors showed the umbilical stump and asked what would be left when that fell off.  Leo enthusiastically replied, "It's penis!!!"  Clearly pink and purple would be the least of our challenges :)

After class we visited the chapel and Joseph wanted to place a prayer petition on the "prayer gallery" wall "[G]od bles mome and dad and Joseph and Leo and the (on the back) baby uncles and aunts family and friends."

leftover dye

I saved our vinegar egg dye for this Pinterest project: drop vinegar tinted with food coloring onto a pan filled with baking soda for colorful fizzy fun!

Joseph's

Leo's

I made the mistake of letting them use things other than the recommended droppers to add the dye as well, so Leo ended up with a case of blue chicken pox!  Oops!

easter

The boys awoke ready to celebrate!

They concocted these doughnut-doughnut hole-skewer-egg towers to enjoy with their chocolate milk.

My attempt at photos was a failure.  Here are some humorous highlights:

After Mass we joined my mom's extended family for lunch at my parent's house.  They had an outdoor hunt there and silly string-bunny decorating activity courtesy of my cousin Patti.  Fun times!

Happy Easter!  He is risen indeed!  Alleluia!
